Film School enables young people to take their first steps into filmmaking and digital media production.

Through practical workshops, professional masterclasses and productions Film School gives young people the opportunity to take an active part in every stage of the movie making process in drama, documentary and animation.

Using the latest HD cameras and professional expertise each group is taken step by step through the filmmaking process, from devising, writing and story boarding to shooting, directing and editing. Emphasis is placed on professionalism in all Film School projects with each young person required to take on a specific and demanding role, placing them at the heart of the production process

From powerful documentary to inspiring drama Film School productions have won many accolades and awards and have featured in film festivals across the globe.

Previous projects include our most recent film From these Stones made with the Churches Conservation Trust; Dirty Bandages, funded by First Light, The Film Agency for Wales and The Big Lottery; four dramas as the West Midlands partner for the First Light Film Making Partners Scheme; Pugilists a Young Roots funded project about boxing; Green Light, five shorts as part of a First Light Studio Award and Making Tracks, a screen music composition and film making project.
