Everyone is agreed on the need for social and economic renewal in the countryside the only question is how to achieve it. At The Rural Media Company, we know that the arts and media act as key drivers for the regeneration of the local economy and we know how to make it happen.
Our work begins with individuals and communities, where we teach people basic media skills. As they acquire better communication skills, they themselves begin to effect change locally. They learn to access funding sources, to market their services and to use the media. New businesses are created and with them new jobs and the drive towards renewal affects other local businesses in turn.
We have helped start community newspapers, taught people how to make their own videos and helped bring communities together to exchange ideas and design their own strategies for renewal.
We can help make it happen.
