Who Cares? Trust

The Who Cares? Trust wanted to produce materials, including a video, for national dissemination. These would promote better opportunities for young people with learning disabilities to enable them to participate in the world of work.  These young people are within the care of local authorities, who could to a lot more to encourage and support them to access further education, training and, eventually, employment.

The Rural Media Company, with its reputation for working sensitively with marginalized young people and with issues of trust and confidentiality, was the obvious choice for such a project.  We were able to help young people to speak directly about their personal experiences, and the support they are receiving from the Who Cares? Trust’s pilot Employability Plus Programme.

The video/CD-ROM pack, aimed at local authorities and employers, will be available in the summer of 2004.
