Back to the Future

Community

In collaboration with The Baring Foundation, Back To The Future brought together older people living in residential homes with young people from Supported Housing Foyers in Herefordshire and Worcestershire. The aim of the project was to engage older people in arts activities, enabling them to not only learn new digital skills but at the same time meet and creatively work with a younger age group.

I’ve never done anything like this before, it was a new experience and you’re never too old to learn...I really enjoyed it!

Pat, Resident

Getting Close and A Letter Every Day were the resulting films of the Back To The Future project. Made in close collaboration with the residents who not only contributed to the script development, but also assisted with the technical aspects of the filmmaking and performed in the films, Back to the Future demonstrates the creative potential of working digitally with older people.

A DVD resource pack is available for £10 from info@ruralmedia.co.uk
