The 'Cheese Market' was a derelict building in central Hay. It was originally built as the Town Hall in the 1830's and as it's current name implies, it has always had some connection with Hays' important agricultural market. With funding from the Welsh Heritage Lottery Fund the building was restored and we were commissioned to create some short films which captured the memories of local people about Hay Market.

We worked with two groups - Hay Youth Club and Llanigon Young Farmers and together created beautiful short films which focused ion local characters who remembered driving stock to market on foot , the annual (and still going) Welsh Mountain Pony Sale, the May Hiring and Firing Fair and the huge Christmas Market.
