Random Acts is a major 3-year Arts Council England/Channel 4 project that supports young artists between the ages of 16-24 as they take their first steps into moving image production.

"Six years ago i made my first ever film with Rural Media - now they're supporting me into my career. I owe them it all."

Becky Doctor, Random Acts artist

We work with young artists who have a fabulous, bold, creative idea for a short arts film (under 3 mins long). We give selected artists support, advice and a budget to make the film – which will then be submitted to Channel 4 for potential broadcast on their online platform and television strand.

Artists can apply individually or as a group.

For examples of previously commissioned films see www.randomacts.channel4.com.

Being part of the scheme is a great addition to personal statements for higher education or to an employment CV. It also gives artists access to a variety of career development opportunities.

For more information about the scheme and how to apply visit randomactsmidlands.org.
