At Rural Media,  we believe everyone should be treated with dignity and respect. We are committed to preventing modern slavery and human trafficking in all areas of our work — including within our team, among freelancers, and across our supply chains.

As a UK-based film production and media charity, we use creativity to tell powerful stories that drive social change. That mission goes hand-in-hand with our responsibility to act ethically and ensure fair treatment for everyone we work with.


Our work relies on collaboration — with individuals, community groups, and a wide network of partners — and we take our social responsibilities seriously in every part of that process.

Our Approach

We know that modern slavery can exist in many forms — including forced labour, exploitation, and human trafficking.
While we consider the risk within our own operations to be low, we remain vigilant and proactive. Our commitment includes:

Our Supply Chain

Our suppliers mainly provide production services, venue hire, equipment, and creative consultancy.
We work primarily with trusted UK-based partners and regularly review these relationships to ensure they share our values of fairness, integrity, and respect.

Training & Awareness

We encourage ongoing awareness among our staff and freelancers about the risks of modern slavery and the importance of speaking up if they spot something wrong.
As we grow, we will continue to strengthen our processes, training, and policies in this area.
